Northeast Modern Language Association (NEMLA),
in Buffalo, NY, April 10-13. McFarland's exhibit space will feature a selection
of new and popular books about
popular culture,
film, and
literature.

(Feb 15, 08) This spring, McFarland will publish the inaugural
issue of Black Ball: A Negro Leagues Journal,
a semiannual peer-reviewed journal. Under the guidance of Leslie Heaphy and an
editorial board of leading historians, the journal will offer new, authoritative
research on all subjects related to black baseball, including the Negro major and
minor leagues, teams, and players; pre–Negro League organization and play; barnstorming;
segregation and integration; class, gender, and ethnicity; the business of black
baseball; and the arts. More information about the journal may be found at

(Feb 14, 08) McFarland will be exhibiting at WonderCon,
a comics and pop culture sister convention to ComicCon. The convention runs
Feb 22-24 in San Francisco. We'll be having a book sale for a wide variety of our
popular culture,
film,
comics,
science fiction and
fantasy books.
