(Mar 1, 10) Saluki: The Desert Hound and the English Travelers Who Brought it to the West won the Maxwell Award for Best Breed Book in the Dog Writers Association of America 2009 writing contest. The prestigious Maxwell was presented to author Brian Duggan at the awards banquet in New York City on the eve of the Westminster Kennel Club Show. Saluki was also a finalist for Best Non-Fiction Book in the Alliance of Pure Bred Dog Writers competition.
